In 1995, a young girl in Texas was killed from an STD. She was only 15. As a result, a group of parents’ groups got together and got many of the hottest “alternative rock” stars of the day perform to help spread the message that having sex without a condom is wrong. The tape was never broadcast, because the master copy was lost, containing all the artists’ performances. The stars involved were Billy Corgan, Mark Lanegan, Beck, J. Mascis, Stephen Malkmus, Bush, and a then-unknown Tenacious D.

The tape was lost when a record executive left it on the roof of his car and drove away. However, two days ago a 7/11 employee in Abilene, TX, was taking a walk through the woods when he spotted something odd and decomposing. It was the tape, and it has been fully restored. And now, here is that PSA, heard for the very first time fourteen years later
